The government unveils an ambitious plan to blanket major highways and cities with fast-charging stations.
The Ministry of Energy has unveiled a comprehensive plan to install 500 EV charging stations across Nepal by 2026.
The Plan
•
Phase 1 (2025): 200 stations along Prithvi Highway, Tribhuvan Highway, and within Kathmandu Valley
•
Phase 2 (2026): 300 additional stations covering Mahendra Highway and major district headquarters
Each station will feature at least one 60kW DC fast charger and two 22kW AC chargers.
